Roostr is a small daily game. This page explains, plainly, what happens to data when you play.
What Roostr itself collects
Roostr has no accounts and no database of players. Your stats, streak, and today's progress are stored only in your own browser (in localStorage) and never sent anywhere. Clear your browser data and they're gone.
Analytics
To understand how many people visit and which puzzles they enjoy, Roostr uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies and collects standard, aggregated data such as page views, approximate (city-level) location derived from your IP address, device type, and referring site. It is not used to personally identify you. See Google's privacy policy, and you can opt out across all websites with Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
Advertising
Roostr may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and in some cases to personalise them based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can review and control this at Google Ads Settings and learn more at Google's advertising policies. If you prefer no ads at all, Roostr Plus removes them.
Coffee / donations
If you choose to "buy me a coffee," the payment is handled entirely by PayPal under PayPal's own privacy policy. Roostr never sees your card details. A donor's name appears on the in-game "Coffee Counter" only if they donated; tell us in the PayPal note if you'd rather stay anonymous, and we'll list you as a kind stranger (or not at all).
Your choices
- Use an ad blocker, or subscribe to Plus, to avoid ad cookies.
- Clear your browser storage to erase your local stats.
- Donations are entirely optional.
